What hours are the Homestead open?

  • The Homestead is open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
     

How does the Homestead bill for services?

  • The Homestead bills monthly by an hourly rate. Billing statements will be mailed to you after the first of the month for the previous month. Bills can be paid via cash, check, or bank transfer. There is the option to set up automatic payments if desired.
     

Who am I leaving my loved one with?

  • Each staff member at the Homestead is a Certified Nursing Assistant. In addition, our director is also a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. The Homestead has access to a nurse or QMA in Greencroft’s Healthcare for medication administration or in case of an emergency.
     

What does the enrollment process entail?

  • Enrolling in the Homestead Adult Day Services is easy! Just call 574-537-4181 and schedule an enrollment meeting with our Homestead Director. Prior this meeting, an enrollment application will either be mailed or emailed to you per your preference. The enrollment application includes forms outlining the Homestead's policy and procedures as well as a Physician form to be filled out by a primary care physician and a TB test (with results attached). The enrollment meeting will take approximately 45 minutes and will take place at The Homestead with you and your loved one. During the scheduled meeting, our director will conduct an assessment to ensure that our services are appropriate for you and your loved one as well as provide a tour and overview of the program including our mission and daily activities.
     

Does the Homestead offer other services?

  • While participants are attending the Homestead, they can also receive outpatient therapy services (with a physician referral) and receive beautician services. Additionally, Greencroft offers transportation services to the Homestead.
     

What does a typical day look like at the Homestead?

  • In the Homestead’s intimate atmosphere, each member benefits from a variety of health, social, and therapeutic activities designed to encourage meaningful engagement, purpose, and creativity. Common programs include art/crafts, religious programs, physical exercise, trips to location attractions, baking/cooking, music therapy, holiday celebrations, pet/children visits, and games/entertainment.
