____A. Carry out duties and functions to support Edgewater Place as assigned.

____E. Perform food services duties a. Simple food preparation: serve beverages, portion salads and desserts. b. Take food orders and serve food to residents and/or customers. c. Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots and pans. d. Complete cleaning assignments in a timely manner. e. Depending on the job assignment, the Dietary Aide will perform the following: i. Set tables for meals. ii. Serve food to residents. iii. Bus and sanitize tables; organize and vacuum dining room. iv. Operate dish machine.
____F. Document and communicate changes a. Accurately record information and complete forms. b. Inform Dietary Manager and/or Cook of changes or problems, report any needed maintenance or repairs. c. Record completion of cleaning assignments.
____G. Follow correct procedures, especially in emergency situations such as fire and tornado drills. ____H. Ensure food safety in refrigerating food, wearing gloves and hair nets, and in using appropriate utensils.
____I. Avoid accidents: lift properly, keep floor dry and clear of debris and use knives/equipment properly.
____J. Adhere to good working habits, in accordance with Edgewater expectations.
Position Requirements:
A. Education & Experience
1. High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Previous experience working with the aging population preferred.
B. Skills and Requirements
1. Ability to operate machines such as dishwasher, coffee maker, and microwave oven.
2. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with residents and staff.
3. Ability to follow directions and obtain information from preprinted reports.
C. Physical/Mental Requirements & Working Conditions Employees/applicants may not pose a direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of themselves or others. Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without the use of prosthetic devices and/or reasonable accommodation.
1. Frequent fingering, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions required.
2. Occasional reaching, kneeling, standing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling required.
3. Requires the ability to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently.
4. Requires the ability to see things clearly at 20 inches or less, as is common in visual inspection.

Administer medications and treatments including limited IV therapy as authorized. Delegate nursing tasks at the direction of only an RN. Teaching nursing tasks to LPNs and others to whom an LPN may delegate tasks as directed by a RN.
- Assist with postmortem care of the resident, including personal belongings. Follow through with charting, notification of family, physician and mortician as outlined in Edgewater procedures.
- Contact physician, families and team members about resident changes.
- Be familiar with Rehab/Ortho care, i.e., transfer technique dressings, staple removal, etc.

____D. Read notes in attendant’s notebook regarding events that have occurred on all shifts. ____E. Write any pertinent information regarding the condition and well-being of the residents in the notebook. Computer documentation when available.
____F. Check on residents that are scheduled for meals but are not present.
____G. Transport any resident needing temporary help to the dining room after an illness or hospital stay. Assist residents with memory issues.
____H. Assist or perform personal care for residents including bathing, dressing, grooming, skin care, oral care and toileting or incontinence care.
____I. Answer calls activated by resident pendant or pull cord in a timely manner.
____J. Carry the telephone and key at all times on the job. Hand off the phone to the next shift when giving report.
____K. Give an accurate and detailed shift change report.
____L. When a resident is taken to the hospital, make sure room is straightened up and bed made, toilet flushed, and apartment locked, and call button removed from resident and kept at Edgewater Place.
____M. Report to nurse any changes in care needs, mental status and behaviors.
____N. Vital Signs as required
____O. Attend the required number of educational in-services mandated by the State and provided by the facility.
Days:
____A. Make regular rounds, every 2 hours, during shift to check on residents.
____B. Make beds of those who requested this service.
____C. Change bed linens as scheduled.
____D. Assist residents to the dining room if requested.
____E. Work with Housekeeping staff to update various schedules: bed making, laundry, cleaning etc.
____F. Wake up those residents on the morning wake-up list or those who wish to have a wake-up call.
____G. Cleaning and laundry as needed.
____H. Assist with activities
____I. Give report to 3 – 11 shift and pass on cell phone and keys
Evenings:
____A. Make regular rounds, every 2 hours, during shift to check on residents.
____B. Set up activities as scheduled/needed.
____C. Cleaning and laundry as scheduled.
____D. Assist resident in getting ready for bed as needed.
____E. Showers as per schedule
____F. Lock exterior doors as per schedule and document.
____G. Give report to the 11 – 7 shift and pass on the cell phone and keys.
Nights:
____A. Make regular rounds, every 2 hours, during shift to check on residents.
____B. Sweep and mop Café and clean counters
____C. Check all exterior doors and alarms. Lock employee entrance after 3 – 11 shift leaves.
____D. Unlock main entrance and employee entrance at 6am.
____E. Follow Cleaning Schedule: Family room, all sitting areas, Laundry rooms, Lobby, Private Dining Room, Public Restrooms.
____F. Give report to the day shift and pass on the cell phone and keys.
____G. Clean Beauty/Barber Shop floor, twice a week.
Cleaning Tasks in Resident Apartments:
____A. Empty all apartment wastebaskets as needed. Pay particular attention to residents who may have incontinence supplies in trash.
____B. Clean any spots on carpet immediately and notify community housekeeper for any additional cleaning.
***All Positions are weekend Rotation.
