Two New Grants Expand Access to Care

For some residents, needing additional support once meant facing a difficult choice: move to skilled nursing care or leave the Greencroft community altogether.

To help residents living in subsidized housing remain in the place they call home, two new grant programs have been established at Greencroft Goshen:

  • The Goshen At Home Grant provides discounted in-home services for qualifying residents, making support such as housekeeping, bathing assistance, and wellness services more affordable.
  • The Good Neighbor Grant helps eligible residents access assisted living services on the Greencroft Goshen campus. Through this program, reserved assisted living apartments are available for qualifying residents who need additional support but do not require skilled nursing care.

Charles' Story

Charles, who has called Greencroft Goshen home for 17 years, faced this very challenge. As he aged, he needed help with meals, reminders, housekeeping, and personal care, but did not feel skilled nursing care was necessary.

At the same time, moving to an assisted living apartment was financially out of reach, and he did not want to leave the community where he had built friendships and connections.

Thanks to the Good Neighbor Grant, Charles was able to move into assisted living and continue living at Greencroft.
Charles shared:

“The timely arrangement offered by the Good Neighbor Grant made possible through the Greencroft Communities Foundation was instrumental in my move and helps me remain as independent as possible. I am so grateful for this new program."

These grant programs originated from ideas submitted by Greencroft team members who recognized gaps in available services and identified ways to help residents remain in their community. By supporting innovative solutions like these across all campuses, the Greencroft Communities Foundation is helping residents access the care they need while preserving their independence, dignity, and sense of belonging.
