Responsible to: Environmental Services Director
Scope of Responsibility: Perform routine cleaning of all Resident apartments in the Edgewater Place community. Provide a clean environment for Edgewater Place residents, staff and visitors.
Essential Functions: Rating (for evaluation purposes only)
____A. Carry out duties and function to support Edgewater Place as assigned.
____B. Live the mission and values to improve the quality of services for residents and team members on the Edgewater Place campus.

____D. Work with Resident Assistants to update various schedules: bed making, cleaning, laundry etc.
____E. Cleaning Tasks in Resident Apartments:
a. Vacuum carpet. Small or lightweight furniture should be moved for vacuuming.
b. Dust and polish furniture. Dust knick-knack shelves.
c. Every three to five months pull furniture out to dust and sweep.
d. Clean counter tops, back of counters, microwaves, under microwaves, cupboard doors, refrigerator handles, and inside refrigerator. Defrost freezer as needed.
e. Check refrigerator for food that should be discarded. Discard as needed.
f. Clean bathroom. Clean mirrors, shelves, wall ornaments, towel dispenser, paper holder, etc. Clean and disinfect entire toilet. Mop floor completely.
g. Check for cobwebs around walls, corners and light fixtures.
h. Check and clean doorknobs and handles.
i. Vacuum couch and chairs.
j. Clean windows as needed.
k. Maintain sweepers by cleaning filters and hose once a month.
l. Clean any spots on carpet immediately and notify ESD for any additional cleaning.
____F. Assist with “deep clean” of apartments when resident moves out.
____G. Adhere to good workings habits, in accordance with Edgewater expectations.
____H. Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
A. Education & Experience
1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. At least six months experience in related work area and working with seniors, preferred.

Scope of Responsibility: The Medications Aide (MA) is responsible for providing routine daily nursing care and activities of daily living to residents at assigned campus in accordance with Ohio federal and state regulations and standards and the policies and procedures of Greencroft Communities or as may be directed by your supervisors.
Essential Functions: Rating (for evaluation purposes only)
- Carry out duties and function to support campus as assigned following all work assignments/schedules.
- Live the mission and values to improve the quality of services for residents and team members at this campus.
- Respect residents’ rights and adhere to rules of resident care and services as described in the Greencroft Team Member Handbook.
- Cannot administer the first dose of a medication.
- Cannot split pills for purposes of changing the dose being given.
- Prepare and administer medications within the MA scope of practice, in accordance with OSDH regulations as follows:
- Oral, nasal drops, eye, ear, topical, rectal and vaginal
- Transdermal patches
- Prepare and administer PRN medications within the MA scope of practice, in accordance with OSDH regulations and document only upon the authorization of a licensed nurse or physician.
- Cannot remove medication from the emergency drug supply.
- Stock medication cart and count narcotics at the beginning and end of shift and at any time the medication cart exchanges hands, excluding schedule 2 drugs.
- Treatments and/or tests within the MA scope of practice, in accordance with OSDH regulations as follows:
- Diabetic testing, both urine and finger sticks.
- Fecal and urine specimens.
- Hemoccult testing.
- Empty and change colostomy bags.
- Instill a commercially prepared enema.
- Apply all lotions, creams, and protectants to skin, except those used for debridement.

- Assist Licensed Nurses/STNAs with resident care, as outlined in the job description for State Tested Nurse Aide.
- Direct family concerns to the community nurse.
Secondary Functions Include:
- Cooperate with interdepartmental personnel, as well as other facility personnel to assure that nursing services can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
- Keep floors dry and report spills immediately.
- Wash wheelchairs, walkers, and other medical equipment as instructed.
- Use only equipment you have been trained to use, and in a safe manner. Report defective equipment to the nurse.
- Participate in care plan meetings as requested.
- Attend all mandatory in-services to meet quality care standards and state and federal regulations.
- Ensure all mandatory health screenings are met TB’s, Chest X-rays, physicals etc.

C. Physical/Mental Requirements & Working Conditions
Employees/applicants may not pose a direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of themselves or others.
Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without the use of prosthetic devices and/or
reasonable accommodation.
1. Requires the ability to lift up to 45 pounds occasionally and up to 30 pounds frequently.
2. Heavy physical labor, bending at the waist, walking over rough or uneven surfaces, stretching,
pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 30 pounds, standing and walking for
extended periods of time and dexterity of hands and fingers to operate ground equipment and
tools.
3. Outdoor environment; subject to driving a vehicle to conduct work.
4. Exposure to pesticide and herbicide chemicals, fumes and noise from vehicle and equipment
operation, dust, dirt, oil/grease, working with or around machinery with moving parts and
extreme weather conditions occasionally.
