Greencroft’s Gold Leaf Legacy Society Transforms Lives
By Suzette Davis
At Greencroft Communities, compassion and community are more than values—they are a way of life. For over six decades, our mission has been carried forward by individuals whose generosity has created a lasting impact on our residents. As we relaunch the Gold Leaf Legacy Society Appreciation Event, we are reminded that the heart of our mission beats strongest through the generosity of those who envision a future where every resident lives with security, dignity and grace.
Gene Yoder, former CEO and a current Greencroft resident, recalls how his passion for Greencroft’s mission led him to include the Foundation in his estate plans. “It’s part of who we have been and who we continue to be,” Gene shares. “The commitment to serve all older adults, regardless of their financial ability, is in Greencroft’s DNA.”
It is this deep-rooted belief that continues to inspire many others, like Lou Ann Good and her husband, Del, who together committed a portion of their estate to Greencroft. Having worked for Greencroft for many years, LuAnn understood firsthand how crucial benevolent care funds are to ensuring no resident ever has to leave their home due to financial hardship.
The collective generosity of Gold Leaf members has already made transformational differences: maintaining benevolent care, supporting housing for those with limited means, and nurturing a community where faith, service, and love flourish. Legacy gifts provide a critical foundation for Greencroft’s future, enabling us to plan boldly, steward wisely, and dream bigger for the generations to come.
In September, we will host an appreciation event to honor the faithful stewards of Greencroft’s mission as Gold Leaf Legacy Society members and invite others to continue this legacy of compassion. By choosing to include Greencroft in your estate plans, you leave behind more than a gift—you leave a legacy of love that lives on for generations.
