Oak Grove Launches Campaign for Memory Care Facility

Officials at Oak Grove Christian Retirement Village in DeMotte have announced a $5 million fundraising campaign to expand and renovate Oak Grove's facilities, and create a benevolent fund to support residents who, through no fault of their own, have outlived their financial resources. The name of the campaign is "Growing for Today and Tomorrow."

The centerpiece of the ambitious project is construction of a new memory care addition, which will provide dedicated, faith-based services for persons facing the challenges of dementia, including Alzheimer's.

Rosemary Weeks, Oak Grove vice president of operations/administrator, points out that the timing of this endeavor fits perfectly with Oak Grove's recent designation as a high performing, five-star rated nursing home, awarded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. This achievement means that Oak Grove ranks among the top 10 percent of Indiana nursing homes, and that it is well positioned to extend its services with the quality and care residents and their families deserve.

In July 2017, members of the Campaign Steering Committee, chaired by Oak Grove board member Oliver Dorn, began making personal visits to invite campaign commitments from interested individuals and businesses. Members of the campaign committee and the Oak Grove Board of Directors also pledged their support of the project. To date, more than $4 million has been raised.

Dorn hopes that the entire $5 million campaign goal will be reached by the project groundbreaking event, anticipated for April. The broader DeMotte community will be invited to offer their support to help achieve that outcome.
