Oak Grove receives Excellence in Innovation Award for second consecutive year
Oak Grove Christian Retirement Village received Greencroft Communities’ highest distinction, the Excellence in Innovation Award, for the second consecutive year. The award recognizes creative, forward-thinking initiatives that enhance resident life, team development, and operational excellence.
Oak Grove received the award for its Grand Rounds program, which brings clinical leaders and frontline caregivers together regularly to discuss resident concerns, provide real-time coaching, and develop solutions before issues escalate. The program has strengthened communication, empowered team members, and supported improvements in resident care. Oak Grove’s facility-acquired wound rate fell from 7.4% to 5.6%, while overall team member turnover declined from 46% to 26.5%.
“Grand Rounds reflects the thoughtful, team-centered innovation we value across Greencroft Communities. By bringing clinical leaders and frontline caregivers together to address concerns early, Oak Grove is strengthening communication and supporting better outcomes for residents,” said Hugh Davis, President and CEO of Greencroft Communities.
Sabra Coons, Director of Nursing, led the effort with the Oak Grove team. Their work demonstrates how listening to frontline team members and working together can lead to practical, personalized solutions that make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives.
