Southfield Village hosts educational events in August
Southfield Village is inviting area residents to attend two free educational events in August designed to help older adults make informed decisions, protect themselves from fraud, and simplify life at home. Both presentations are open to the public and will be held in the Southfield Village Community Room, located at 6450 Miami Circle, South Bend, IN 46614.
The first event, "Protect Yourself from Scams," will take place on Wednesday, August 5, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Financial professional Adam Kling of Bridgeview Financial Inc. will share practical strategies to help attendees recognize common scams, identify warning signs, and develop habits that reduce the risk of becoming a victim. Participants will also learn how to recognize if they may have already been targeted and what steps to take next.
The second event, "How to Successfully Declutter Your House," will be held on Tuesday, August 11, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Local real estate professional Kirsten Sharpe, owner of Sharpe Realty, will offer practical advice for anyone feeling overwhelmed by clutter or considering a future move. During the presentation, Sharpe will explain what decluttering really means, why it can have such a positive impact on daily life, and the psychology behind letting go of possessions.
Attendees will leave with simple, step-by-step strategies for reducing clutter, staying organized, and maintaining a clutter-free home. The presentation will conclude with a question-and-answer session, giving guests the opportunity to receive personalized tips and advice.
Seating is limited, and registration is required. To RSVP, call (574) 849-2179.
