Southfield Village celebrates new bus for resident transportation
Southfield Village celebrated the arrival of a new bus that will give residents more opportunities to enjoy outings and activities in the community while also providing transportation to medical appointments.
The bus can carry 12 passengers and accommodate two wheelchairs. Its seating can also be reconfigured for four passengers and four wheelchairs, allowing Southfield Village to meet a wider range of transportation needs.
“This bus is a huge addition to our community,” said Darrin Miller, Executive Director of Southfield Village. “It gives us more flexibility to help residents get to appointments and take part in outings and activities they enjoy. We’re grateful to the Greencroft Communities Foundation for helping make that possible.”
The Greencroft Communities Foundation provided a substantial donation toward the purchase of the bus. Residents, team members and supporters gathered for a celebration to mark its arrival.
