Celebrating a Local Legend
The South Bend Cubs and the South Bend Historic Museum featured Betsy “Sockum” Jochum during one of their home games recently! Miss Betsy was able to attend, and at 100 years old, she enjoyed a night out with the Cubs and wanted to stay till the very end!
Betsy played for the Blue Sox from 1943 to 1948 in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League.
