Golden Years Golf Outing Sets Record

The annual golf tournament at the Cherry Hill Golf Club in Fort Wayne, Ind., netted a record $18,602 for a retirement community that is part of the Greencroft Retirement Communities system. The funds will be added to the Residents Assistance Fund for those with needs at the Golden Years Homestead retirement community in Fort Wayne. After expenses for the tourney, the amount raised was 19 percent more than the previous record set in 2014. The 2017 golf outing also saw more golfers and more corporate sponsors participating in the tournament than in 2016. While 48 golfers participated in 2015, 56 participated in this year’s outing. In 2015 Golden Years and a sister campus joined the Greencroft system of eight retirement communities in Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan. It is operated by Christian Ministries, Inc., which also has a campus in Holt, Mich., called Great Lakes Christian Homes. The two campuses were founded by independent Christian churches in Indiana and Michigan. Between the two they host 401 residents and employ 251 staff members.
