Join us for some Old Fashioned Harmony with the Lima Beane Chorus and their guests.  Barbershop music, with its close, unaccompanied, four-part harmonies, is a unique American folk art.  It was taking form between 1860 and 1920.  In the early years, singers would improvise the harmonies but when the printing press was adapted to produce musical notation, there was furthe advancement of the barbershop idiom.  At the turn of the century, amateur singers, mainly men, were often heard singing i mprovised barbershop harmonies at parties and picnics.  The Lima Beane Chorus presents its annual Night of Harmony at the Veteran's MEmorial Civic Center in Lima, Ohio.  This years show is entitled "Melody Lingers On", the music of Irving Berlin.  We'll enjoy a buffet lunch at the Old Barn Outback before attending the matinee performance.  As we head home, we'll stop for a quick bite to eat on your own at
