LLI Has New Website!
The
Lifelong Learning Institute of Elkhart County (LLI) has a new internet home,
with the creation of its own website at www.life-learn.org.
LLI
provides stimulating and affordable
short courses in many fields for active seniors. Courses are held in fall and spring,
along with a free lecture series in midwinter.
LLI has previously had information
available online at the websites of its two sponsoring organizations, Goshen
College and Greencroft Communities. The
new website will allow LLI to present more information and further develop its
online presence. It will also offer
online course registration and a secure payment option. The website was designed and developed by
Studio Ace of Spade, a design and marketing firm located in Goshen, Indiana.
Persons 55 and older are welcome to
take LLI courses. One does not need to have attended college or to live at a
retirement community. Classes typically
meet for one and a half hours, twice a week, for two weeks. LLI instructors are
former teachers, professionals and others with special interests in the area of
their course who volunteer their time. There
are no tests or grades, no previous studies or degrees–just the joy of
learning.
LLI is a member organization in
which participants assist with curriculum planning and help to guide decisions
on publicity and finance. There are 11 LLI board members.
The LLI website contains information
on courses, membership and about LLI, plus online registration (with secure
payment provisions), at www.life-learn.org
